Robotics and Beyond Gets Funding Boost from QWASI Technology
Nonprofit will welcome up to 10 More Campers into Summer Camp

New Milford, CT – July 6, 2016 – Today, Robotics And Beyond  a nonprofit STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education program recently received a $2,000 donation [LP1] for its four-week 2016 camp season, announced Executive Director Paul Chayka. New York-based QWASI Technology made the donation during a recent visit to the camp headquarters.

“This camp is unlike anything I have ever seen. Within minutes of arriving, I was having serious debates with ten-year-olds about 3D printing and robotics. I watched them not play on iPads, but rather learn how to code, solder, and explain what they were creating, and how they might one day change the world,” explains QWASI Chief Innovation Officer, Lara Hanson. As a former college basketball player and scholarship athlete at Fordham University, Hanson explains, “It was ingrained in us that ‘with great gifts comes great responsibility.’ I am so happy that we are able to support these children, and the special educators who are mentoring them.”

“We are tremendously grateful that for this gesture of support for the program,” said Chayka. “Having an organization like QWASI, which provides software and leading-edge technology, recognize the impact we provide is a great validation for our approach and mission, as well as energizing for our staff. This donation, combined with other funds raised, will cover tuition for eight or ten campers to attend. I cannot express enough how much our families and staff appreciate it.”

Robotics And Beyonds’s mission is to help young people thrive in the technological world they encounter, discover talents, think and communicate effectively, create passionately, enjoy accomplishments, pursue fulfilling careers, give back, and become models for future generations. Classes include:

  • Electronics design and fabrication
  • 3-D modeling (CAD) and fabrication
  • Mechanics of robotics and programming
  • Coding in career-relevant languages
  • Graphic design and architecture
  • Microcontrollers and microcomputers
  • Game development and programming

“We’re thrilled to be able to support Robotics And Beyond in its exciting mission. All young people should have the opportunity to explore technology and the many career opportunities that are available to them throughout the sciences. We will continue to support organizations like Robotics And Beyond in for the incredible work they do,” said Hanson.

Tuition assistance funds from QWASI Technology and other sources remain available. “We are still accepting students who need financial assistance,” said Chayka.
